We have lost many great soldiers in both Iraq and Afghanistan, but Derek's passing marks the first A2 Spartan to be lost. I shared work and play with Derek and it is hard to imagine not seeing his smile and to know that the energy he portrayed, and that inspired others daily, is extinguished. The loss of good person like Derek weighs heavily on the hearts of all his brothers and sisters in the Armed Services. My prayers are with you and the Hines family. 1LT Constable, Jason ?03 |
