Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dustin Healey on September 8, 2005:

I'm sending a million Hugs to all of Hinesy's family. I'll never forget all the times I spent with Derek at school, at hockey, his house, or at meals. The pictures I've looked at the past few days remind me how much Derek meant to all that were around him. Although I will miss the 8C handshake or jumping on his Patriots bandwagon, I'll never ever forget what those moments meant to me and all who knew him. Once he had a Super Bowl party that you could only get into if you were wearing Patriots gear. This forced me to make a shirt with a black marker and a white T-shirt. I wasn't going to miss the game at his house for the world. The resulting picture in our Patriots gear will forever be on my wall. Moments like these and many others made him a very special friend, and I am honored to have been his teammate and his friend. His impact on those around him will live forever. To his Family, I send so much love and want to thank you for raising a special son and being so very special yourselves. I miss you all.
