Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Elaine A. King, CPA on September 11, 2005:
Hi Daddy,
It's taken me a long time to be able to write this letter, I have missed you so very much over the years and always kept you close in my heart and my thoughts.
My oldest daughter, Juleppe will be graduating this year and going off to college. Daddy, she's truly beautiful, on the Honor Roll and has a soft spoken, shy personality. She's taking Calculus and sings in the Chorus, you would be so proud of her!
And then there is little Olivia, she just entered first grade. She makes a 100% on her spelling tests every week. Last week, she didn't do her bonus words which were offered for the first time. When I asked her why not, she said the bonus words weren't required. I thought of you and how you encouraged academic excellence and achievement and I told her, we always go "above and beyond", a bonus is not "extra", it is required! She told me she will do her bonuses from now on.
Daddy, you would simply dote on Olivia, she is outspoken, loves to learn, loves reading and is very athletic. She is so much like you and I! Olivia will be making her first Communion next year and says her prayers at bedtime every night like we used to do when we were little. One of Olivia's favorite pastimes is to look through the photo albums of you and all of our family. She always has so many questions.
Cyn and I take good care of Mom. In truth, Cyn shoulders the vast majority of the responsibility and evacuated her four times last year because of the hurricanes. Mom's getting ready to have a double hip and knee replacement in the coming year and will need a lot of assistance.
I pray for peace, love, good health and unity among all of our family members. Take care Daddy, always know that you are deeply missed.
All my love your adoring oldest daughter, Elaine PS Juleppe and Olivia send double hugs and kisses! xxoo :>)
