While doing research on the air war of WW II, I discovered LTC Parker had attended Kemper Military School '34, in Boonville, Missouri, prior to entering USMA. I also observed that he was Commander of the 341st Bomber Squadron, a component of the 97th Bomber Group during WW II. One of Parker's most important missions was leading over 250 B-17's in a daring bombing raid over Steyr, Austria during Operation "Argument" conducted on 24 February 1944. |
