I was an enlisted man in Co B 3/64 Armor 3rd Infantry Division from January 1967 August 1968. Lt. Col McLean commanded the third Battalion at the time, which was stationed at Conn Barracks, Schweinfurt Germany. I looked him up on the internet many years later. He had retired and was living in Tampa Florida. I wrote him a letter. Although I am absolutely certain he had no idea at all who I was, he very courteously responded, which impressed me with his gentlemanly qualities. |
