Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brian on April 30, 2020:

Jay,
You dont know me and we never personally met. However, without detail, we are intimately united for all eternity. I have been wanting to post a eulogy since you and I became connected near 11 years ago. One of the best compliments I have ever received was from your sister, who stated that we would've been great friends.

Jay, I wish we had that opportunity to meet and share. I wish I had the opportunity to meet a man that I hear stories about regularly. One day, you and I will share this time together. You and I, I'm sure, will laugh, share memories, and just be together as Brothers in Arms...Servant Leaders striving to serving those in our command.

The reason Im posting is not a eulogy by definition, but it is in reaching out. You see, I believe in the eternal soul. I believe that one lives on in eternity. This soul, though not tangible, is more real than here on earth. Thus, I believe that you are more present now than when you were 15yrs ago. With that said, I need your assistance. I need you to watch over me. I need you to protect me and confirm my calling in life. When times get tough, remind Jen and the kids about your presence and confirm their perseverance. Remind them that you have also assisted them in their calling or present situation. Though God's will, remind them that, in some sense, you had a nudge in it.

Jay, please pull on the robe of Christ and seek his protection and guidance for me in this life. Intercede on my behalf, so that you, me, and too many others, can have that eternal bliss together in the beatific vision.

Rest Easy Brother...I've got your six and will pick up where you left off.
