belated sympathies to DANNY'S widow!! thru mutual friends i met DANNY shortly after he graduated West Point. i was so much different than other women i knew he dated, which is maybe why he found me attractive. for starters although i was an activist against the war in vietnam, we really got along, had many serious conversations, & had deep respect for each other. we had some terrific times together; one of the best was getting becalmed till morning in a very small sailboat on lake erie off point abino, ontario, canada, which gave us so much time to get to know each other even better. we stayed in touch thru his pre-nam training & even after he returned from nam. eventually, we lost touch. then in the early 90s, i accidentally found he was living in/near la jolla & we talked on the phone occasionally. the last time i saw him was for lunch maybe a year or so before he died. one of the most interesting, bright men i ever knew. way too young & vibrant to have died then.
