Be Thou At Peace
Posted by George Hamilton on May 26, 2020:
John and I didn't bump into each other much at West Point. He was over in B-1; I in E-2. He worked to stay near the bottom of our class, graduating a score or so from the bottom; I pursued stars. John could make a golf ball spin any direction that he wanted; mine would only slice. All of these made John much adored by our classmates. I had the benefit of getting to John and his delightful wife Sun a decade or so after graduation when a group of classmates and spouses began meeting annually around the country. John was ebullient, full of wit and humor. I am convinced that he could sell most anything, and he did well repping high tech devices and producing his presentation golf clubs at his shop in Scotland. At our annual gatherings, there was always the several golf outings, with teams. No matter how loaded the competition, John normally pulled out a win. My wife, Christie, and I would often meet a few days early with John and Sue at these gatherings. Wonderful memories of those days in the black lava of Hawaii, the rim of the Grand Canyon, and elsewhere. John was a true and delightful friend. We miss you, Malcolm! George Hamilton, Class of 1963
