Bill , it has been 54 years since you gave your life on the battlefield ..... I stop and think why could have been .....you and Beth would certainly have grandchildren by now, young adults, seeking your advice and cherishing your love. That thought saddens me ..... you were so deserving of more time on this earth. So deserving of seeing your children/grandchildren come into being and blessing you. You, like so many thousands of others did not get that chance. From the time we shared in Beast Barracks, to Jump School, to our first assignment in the 2/17th Can. of the 101st ..... lots of memories of a young man with the ready smile, helping others, love of country, sense of duty. I will never forget you Bill. Dan |
