jay---to lose such a good man so suddenly is heart-rending and tragic. we met for just a brief time, but as an old cavalryman, i saw in you again my youth and the desire to be the best troop commander one could be. you were at the pinnacle of your skills, and your enthusiam, professionalism, and commitment were a true joy to witness. your soldiers admired and respected you; it was clear that you were a true leader. i will always remember you that way. you leave a wonderful wife and children who will cherish your memory. i, too, will carry you in my old warrior's heart. bill bachman west point '68 e trp, 2/11acr vietnam '71-72 |
