Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ali Van Nest on October 18, 2005:

I met Matt in college. We spent a lot of time talking and getting to know one another from afar. The last time I spoke with Matt was sometime during my second year at the University of Delaware. Just two nights ago I got into a conversation with my boyfriend about people from our college days. He so happened to be a high school friend of Maureen. What are the odds of both of us knowing one of this couple before we even knew each other? He told me the horrible news which was echoed by a long period of silence. Although Matt has not been in my life for a long long time, this was a great loss. I wish my sincerest condolences to Matt's family and his brave and amazing wife. Matt helped me through many hard times when I was at a very insecure and bad place. Matt was a friend. Matt was honorable. Matt touched my life. I am glad to know Matt found true love and a peaceful happy life in the prior years to his passing. I just wish Matt would have been able to experience it for a longer time. I do know that if Matt is anywhere, he is by God's side as one of his angels. Thank you Matt for the memories and GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL OF YOUR LOVED ONES!
