Be Thou At Peace

| I just unfortunately heard that Dan had passed. I am so sorry to hear the news. He was my boss when I was a young active duty captain assigned to the staff (SJA office) at West Point in the mid 1990s.. He took me under his wing and was one of the best supervisors one could ask for. He always had sage advise for me and a friendly word. We helped cadets with Honor Board and misconduct cases and I'm betting many grads are now grateful for the help he provided. He loaded me with stories about West Point lore during my time at the Point and even bragged about meeting Marty Maher when Marty was at the end of his life and in hospital. Dan's friendship extended to gifting me Army-Navy tickets a few times and many other kind gestures too numerous to mention. As time past, I unfortunately lost touch with him. He was the embodiment of a West Pointer. Rest easy, Dan. |
