Be Thou At Peace

Just a few days ago, we landed another rover on Mars, Perseverance. As I watched the celebration in the mission support area, I gazed upon the American flag on the back wall and recalled when we had hung it there in your memory as we celebrated the landings of Spirit and Opportunity to begin their exploration on the surface of Mars. The placard beside the flag said something to the effect that this flag is displayed in remembrance of all who serve and have served who make our scientific explorations possible. It is your sacrifice that secures our freedoms to explore the universe and we will be eternally grateful. Be Thou At Peace, Todd. Dad |
