Eulogy for Edwin Van Keuren, Jr. 1929-2013 You revealed through numbers: the sky of consciousness, and I am indebted forever because you signaled to my mind infinity and its open space, unconditioned yet all-powerful, where figures yield to the abstract, and tread silently, hinting to the sentient: the majesty of the nothingness of naught--from which anything whatsoever may spring; and only the innocent know that anything whatsoever can be no more than nothing, for after all: all in this life is made up; and the primal zero subsumes all forms into its void which is, also, the source of creation. You disclosed this enigma to my eyes: what others could not see, and where their minds could not go; your love for its pure truth was kindled in me eternally. Of all my teachers you are the best. Thank you. |
