I served as a Senior Staff Office under LTC Jorstad in Vietnam on Tan Son Nhut in Saigon in 1968. He was an outstanding mentor and officer. It was always difficult to keep up with his work ethic and professionalism but besides 16 hour days 7 days a week, I learned a lot about life from him and became a better person. Although at the time I was an OCS graduate without a college education, I later went on to earn a PhD from Stanford University and was a Post-Doc at MIT. It's hard to properly express my appreciation for his guidance, encouragement and example, but will say simply thank you. May God bless him and keep him and shine his face upon him.. -Dr. Michael R.
