Dennis William Zilinski II

West Point, 2004

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tina Solley on November 23, 2005:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Zilinski,

Our entire family was saddened to hear the news from a cadet this afternoon about Dennis. Our son is a former cadet (class of 2007) who was on the swim team and in Company B-3 with "Dezil." Needless to say, he is devastated. He always spoke so highly of Dezil that we felt like we knew him too. In fact, on one of our visits to West Point, our younger son met Dezil. When he heard about Dezil his remarks were, "Oh no, not Dezil, he was so cool and so nice!" At swim practice today, our son informed his swim coach about Dezil. His coach also remembered Dezil through the numerous compliments and stories that our son had relayed to him. His coach replied, "He was one of the good ones." At this most difficult time in your lives, we only hope that you may be comforted in knowing that Dennis made a very positive impression in our son's life and in the lives of many others. We will continue to keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

With deepest sympathy,

Mike, Tina, Michael and Todd Solley
