James Lawson Orr was born on December 24, 1915, in Davisboro, Georgia, his father, Thomas, was 30 and his mother, Varina, was 24. He married Helen Maude Dechman-Orr-McLaughlin on March 16, 1941, in Emory, Georgia.
When he failed to return from an air mission on 26 Aug 1941 and was presumed dead.
