Be Thou At Peace

| Don and I were roommates our last two years at the Academy, and I remember fondly our times together. No matter the difficulties or the stresses, he was always calm and maintained his wonderful sense of humor. To describe him as unflappable is somewhat of an understatement. As an Army brat, he had great respect for the Academy and the Army, and I'm confident that continued throughout his career. Unfortunately, I lost contact with Don after Dick Wilson and I attended his wedding to Diane in California, likely due to the fact I chose the Marines. Fortunately, however, my wife and I visited with Don and Diane in Monterey a few years ago, and it was as though all the years since I'd last seen them disappeared. Rest in peace good friend. |
