Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ryan Paavo on February 18, 2024:

This weekend I made one of the hardest trips of my life. I've avoided talking (and quite frankly thinking) about it too much up until now, and have even posted nothing but funny videos and memes to distract myself, but this weekend we put whom I consider to be a very dear friend, Andrew I Webber Andrew Webber to rest.

I struggle to find the right words to do you justice. Andy was unlike any other person I have ever met. He was the kindest, gentlest soul you will ever meet, and yet simultaneously an incredible warrior. He was one of the most brilliant people I have known; a certified genius! And yet could do and say some of the dumbest things sometimes. I guess maybe that's how to best describe Andy: He was a paradox. But undoubtedly someone you wanted in your corner and in your life.

Andy had an incredible life. No, literally. Just when you thought you'd come to the end of all the amazing twists and turns, you'd realize you weren't even 1/2 way done! I'm just so grateful I got to spend some of those adventures with him.
Despite all of Andy's amazing accomplishments [too many to post here; and I'm also nowhere near the most qualified person to do that. I'll link a bio in a follow-up post.], I will always remember him as the kid in the video below. Being one of a core group of four guys, left behind to do monumental work way above our station (and maybe ability). Exhausted to the point of delirium. But then huddled over in laughter as we found a brief moment of respite to enjoy each other's company and forget the dizzying madness that surrounded us.

I loved you, Andy. And although I didn't always show it, I hope you know it. And knew how much I appreciated you.
As hard as this weekend will be, I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it will be moving forward without you for your incredible wife, DeeDee Cloyd Webber, your amazing kids, and your wonderful family.

God bless you, Andy. You truly were a bright, shining star. But I guess it's true what they say about those stars that shine the brightest. Rest in peace, my friend.
