Be Thou At Peace

Jay- I'm in the middle of reading a book about the history of Special Operations, and your memory often creeps into my mind. I find myself reflecting on some great times at school, in the Army, and in the heyday of our hardest days at work in the now all-too-distant land. While my eyes roll over the words, my mind wanders to those days, to the people I knew who set out to route the evil from his hiding places, and to those who paid with their lives. Many of our classmates were just notified of our selection for battalion command. Undoubtedly you would have been on that roster with the rest of us, setting out to make a difference in the lives of your troops and to prepare your battalion for the next objective. Your memory lives on in our minds and hearts, Jay. We are wiser and seemingly tougher now, and knowing men like you only strengthens our determination to carry on to the next assignment. Until we meet again, Jay. You are always remembered.
