Andy was in my squad at Buckner and probably the single biggest source of comedic relief during that time of rain and heat. two things I remember distinctly. During branch introductions, Andy always had one question, "How many days are you in the field per year?" This was his branch selection criteria. The second was during a react to ambush and Andy tripped. He grasped for a small tree while executing a beautiful, full auto mag dump with a 180 degree sweep with his M16A1. It was a hilarious image I will never forget, as I will never forget Andy's humor, good nature and facetious grin. rest easy... |
