Be Thou At Peace

I know Bob from the West Point Class of 1965 golf outings which I attended seven times as John Swensson's guest. One time John was late or had to cancel so I roomed with Bob. One time he and Faye visited San Francisco and he and Faye and John and Susan and my wife Lily shared cocktails at our home and then dinner afterwards at a little Italian restaurant nearby. He was such a nice guy, such a welcoming guy. A fisherman too, as am I, and we used to trade fish stories and photos. I am not a West Point grad, however I was a Reserve officer, a platoon leader, in the 82nd Airborne Division for two years. This was one of the most important things in my life. Lily and I will always remember Bob and Faye and I will always think back to the wonderful golf outings that he organized and the wonderful guys he introduced me to. David Sage |
