Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Colonel Ray Celeste, Jr., USMC (Ret.) on October 3, 2024:

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Sorley, USA (Ret.) came from a long line of patriots. His Father and Grandfather graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York. He followed in their footsteps and graduated from that acclaimed school. LTC Sorely went on to serve in the Army with distinction and served honorably for 20 years. My father Ray Celeste was a classmate.

LTC Sorely had so many accomplishments, he has his own Wikipedia page. I met him years ago when I moved to the DC area through my brother, Rob. We discussed the Vietnam War and his writings about it.

He was incredibly articulate on so many military subjects and wrote numerous books on military matters. I was so impressed by his outstanding writing ability and his love of our exceptional Nation.

LTC Sorely has left an outstanding legacy. I am very blessed to have met him. God bless him and may he rest in eternal peace!
