Be Thou At Peace

| Even though it has been many years since I've seen Kent, the notification of his death still gave me feelings of a great loss. We met in Beast Barracks in the summer of 1981 and besides his wonderful accent, I was immediately struck by his great kindness and warm, often self-deprecating sense of humor. While he may have been willing to chuckle at himself, the rest of us found in him a presence that could make the roughest of days go better. His humility helped us to remember our own. These qualities, so genuinely and authentically expressed, represented the best of us, and I have to believe anyone who encountered him were enriched by all that, and more. My deepest condolences go to all who knew and loved him best. |
