Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dennis Carlini on May 4, 2025:

I am writing to express my gratitude to George for his unwavering friendship over the past 60 years. From the day I was medically discharged from West Point (6/5/1967) George would never let me depart from the E-4 Band of Brothers. So many examples of his unwavering friendship come to mind. The first was he and Mike Meuleners pulling me out of Georgetown during the '68 riots (they were on a German club outing). Establishing a DC base for E-4 get togethers a minimum of once a year, making sure everyone was included that was in town or passing through. Partnering with me to try to get Randy Bryant help. He wouldn't go to AA but we got my med school classmate Dr. Emma to see him weekly for 18 months til his eventual relapse. At Randy's burial at Arlington in 5/1994 the his entire beast squad was there again through George's efforts. He also arranged numerous annual visits to the Pitz's in New Jersey as Diane was home bound with advanced MS. There are so many examples of George's kindness. He was a credit to the Class of 1969.

He was in my wedding party and was a pallbearer at my Mother's funeral. I can never take away the strength that I gathered from my 2 years at West Point, everything that followed was easy. But most importantly the friendships, the E-4 Band of Brothers.

THANK YOU GEORGE
