Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Valerie Wooden on May 7, 2025:

I met Art in 2000 at the Korea Battle Simulation Center. I was there to support a Warfighter Exercise. Over the next 16 years, I had the privilege to support the exercises and work for his team. Art scared the hell out of me. He was a hard-charger who didn't put up with slackers. He had a plan, he needed people to execute that plan. I am proud to have supported him, talked and laughed with him. If ever the balloon were to go up, I prayed that I would be fighting the crisis with him and for him. To be in his foxhole would be a blessing. He would do anything for his people. Art made me a better person, I never wanted to let him down. I am honored and blessed to have worked with him. He was all about training the Warfighter. I thank God for giving us Art Parker. Your Watch here is over. Well done. Rest in Peace.
