Jim and I were in the same Russian Language class section together. We both started out in Section 3. Over time, he progressed to Section One. That impressed me. Over the years, I have made many trips from Columbus, GA to my homeplace in Louisiana. Off I-85 between Montgomery and Opelika is a shortcut to Columbus via "Wire Road," which I took many times. I never took that shortcut without thinking of him. Wish I could have told him that in person. May his memory never fade. |
