Miguel Jr Nieves

West Point, 1955

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Miguel Nieves on March 19, 2026:

Those who knew my father saw a righteous man with a golden heart. Kind, considerate and thoughtful. After ninety one years of life, he departed in peace, embracing the long-awaited rest that he so much deserved, joining his beloved mother, America, and his father, Miguel.
A proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1955, and a consummate Civil Engineer, a career he loved. The wellbeing of his family and three children always his top priority, closely followed by his love for animal life especially his dogs. He enjoyed dancing and good lively music but spending time with his children excited him the most.
Although not much of an athlete, he followed sports all year-round, never missing the Army-Navy game.
I, Miguel, my sister, Nayda and my brother, Kenneth ("Kenny"), will miss his advise and affection as much as his kiss in the cheek accompanied by his blessing.
My father, "Papi"; proud to be his son.
