Be Thou At Peace

| Bob sponsored me when I joined the History faculty in 1973 as an instructor in the course he directed. He made the finest of bosses and mentors and the best of friends. We remained friends in all the years that followed. Bob helped me with one of the most difficult career decisions I had to make. We also shared a lot of laughs. Unquestionably one of the brightest scholars in his historical field, Bob was equally accomplished as an Armor leader and a military thinker. He was the best kind of leader--one whose people respect him, love him and achieve great things because of him. Well done, Bob. Be at peace. |
