George Nippell, Vietnam Veteran, Army Aviator. I last talked to George in late February. He and I would chat maybe every other month. He was on our Booz Allen contractor teaming supporting the Army National Guard and after I left Booz Allen in 2010 we kept in touch regularly and caught up a number of times in person. When I decided to leave Booz Allen, he and my longtime friend Paul Arienti were the 1st ones I told that I was going to leave, we met over breakfast. Once we golfed at TPC Sawgrass, playing horribly as we usually did. We played many golf outings together for work, horribly as noted. He made an amazing spicy blood mary which is a necessity in golf. He annoyingly (his words) had the Army marketing jingle set up as my incoming ring tone - he did that to himself and so he always knew if it was me calling. He was a long time Booz Allen contractor since 1996 working onsite in Arlington VA at the National Guard Readiness Center. He was an avid sailor, even living on his boat while he worked at Booz Allen. I recall one year we were at lunch for his annual assessment debrief and splitting a bottle of white wine when several Booz Allen partners walked by our table and we ignored them and I think they didn't notice us. He was my employee, my co-worker, my friend but mostly my friend. He is predeceased by his wonderful wife Nancy who we met multiple times. I won't be deleting his phone #.
