Orlin Lee Mullen

West Point, 1965

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Bob Frank '65 on May 17, 2026:

Orlin was a guy who was easy to underestimate. His calm and mild manner was a strength that was hard to comprehend at times. Yet, Orlin was superb at almost everything he did. As Ray Pollard pointed out, who could have guessed that Orlin would become a General Officer? Yet, his talent and his personality were just what the Army needed. On the personal side, Orlin's devotion to Sandy, his wife, was beyond magnificent. There surely is no finer example of love and commitment. I had the privilege of seeing him, albeit infrequently, living on Maryland's Eastern Shore. These encounters always left me feeling motivated to do more in every aspect of my daily life. Orlin was that impactful a motivator. He has truly gone too soon. Well done, my friend.
