I have fond memories of Joe from our years at West Point. Our paths crossed again in Alaska in '74 when Joe was assigned to the Arctic Testing Center at Fort Greely AK and I was at Ft Richardson. What a surprise to run into Joe in Alaska. Our paths crossed again in the early '80's when one of my distributors had gone to high school with Joe. When he found out that Joe and I were WP classmates, he called Joe's office (Air Products, I believe) and said he was an agent with the EPA and they wanted to review some violations by Joe's company. The high school friend and I showed up as EPA agents and we all had a good laugh. I enjoyed seeing Joe at our Pacific NW luncheons w/ '69 classmates. Joe always had a smile on his face and was always happy. His WP admissions work is legend and I'm glad he was recognized before he passed! What a great story his life is. He is one of the great ones! Rest in peace, Joe! |
