Be Thou At Peace

| I was truly saddened to learn of George's passing but not surprised. About 4 years ago he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and given 2 years. He surpassed it. I worked with George at Booz Allen and for awhile shared an office. George and I talked a lot about our mutual interest in sailing. He gave me several classic sailing guides when he and Nancy gave up his sailboat and then moved to her place in Florida. Since we have been liveaboard cruising since 2012 we stopped to visit with him and Nancy when passing through. After Nancy passed George lost so much. When we visited last year he was showing fatigue. I've been reaching out to plan our get together next week for lunch and to share a bottle of great rum. We'll miss that. I'll drink some rum tonight to celebrate him. |
