| I hope this eulogy kicks off a series of deeper remembrances than I have to offer. We had little interaction as cadets--he in 3rd Regiment and I in second, but somehow I was always aware of him. It was in the middle 1980s we linked up when he was at Fort Benning TDY. I vividly recall our walking toward the then O-Club and him point out the star Regulus in the early evening starlight. He spoke of his work at the NTC. His brief 2-line summary in the Register totally belies the tremendous impact he had in his NTC assignment, which he point out in the 1969 Legacy Book as leading to the stupendous success the US Army had in the First Gulf War. On learning of his passing--on his 79th Birthday--I can only wish we had enjoyed more interaction together. Blessings on his family. |
