Dr William Alfred Gardner Jr. Birth 9 Oct 1924 Ardmore, Carter County, Ok Death 2 Feb 2008 (aged 83) Ardmore, Carter County, Ok Burial Rose Hill Cemetery Ardmore, Carter County, Oklahoma, USA Memorial ID 24408764 Services for Dr. William Alfred Gardner Jr., 83, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Born on Oct. 9, 1924, in Ardmore to William Alfred Gardner Sr. and Billie Green Gardner, he passed from this life on Feb. 2, 2008, at a local health care facility. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna and his parents. He graduated from Ardmore High School in 1941 and attended Texas A&M University. In 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and attended pre-flight training at Randolf Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and flight school in Arkadelphia, Ark. In 1944, he received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy, West Point and graduated with a bachelor of science degree. While ...
