Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Andy Riise on December 15, 2005:

KJ and I were brothers in adversity from day 1 when we showed up at USMAPS in '97. Although we never hung out together, our paths always seemed to cross in the many long hours studying together in rock math. We ran into eachother again here at Sill, had lunch, and laughed about all we had been through just to get this far - how we were the "blind leading the blind," at times, but we stuck together and made it through.

I was always impressed with KJ as an athlete and his dedication to graduate and serve his country. Like Ryan said, words seem to fall short to describe him, but to me, Kevin's life is a testament perseverance, and the ability to accomplish any goal. It is the adversity he had gone through and overcome that truly shaped him as a man and leader. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. From my family to yours...our hearts and prayers go out to you.
