Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dee Tran on December 18, 2005:

Zane was in my Honors and AP classes in high school. We tried to keep in touch via emails during college and I believe he sent me a picture of himself in uniform once. Not sure why he popped in my head ten minutes ago, but I googled him and smiled to find articles about his fencing career! I almost didn't click on this posting because I didn't want it to be true. The sadness of his passing has not sunken in yet but I immediately wanted to share some memories I have of this amazing person.

Zane was always very quiet in class. I would harass him every chance I got because I have a special gift for finding wallflowers with good hearts. He would always link up our TI calculators with the latest program he got or created. What would I have done without Tetris in my calculator during Calculus class?

I was in the audience at Senior Awards Night when he was awarded a spot at West Point.. He was so humble when he accepted his award on stage. He had a great smile.

You are greatly missed, friend.
