Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Benjamin H. Klimkowski on December 26, 2005:

Ben Britt was a man among men. He was universally respected in everything he did, and he did everything with humility and class. He was blessed with a powerful intellect, athletic prowess, a keen sense of humor and a compassionate nature. At school, we all looked up to his smarts, in the weight room, his strength. His comic talent was always present. He was a dude's dude; he was the kind of person with whom you wanted to be friends.

I was fortunate to know Ben at school, and become close to him down at Benning. I know for a fact that there was nothing more he wanted to do than serve his country, led men in combat, grow old and watch his children play high school football. Well Ben, your sacrifice will not go in vain. You are the reason why this county has the freedom it does.

I well never forgot the stupidity of the "Bad Place," all those hours together in Briant-Wells, or the stupid stuff we did together down in the "GER."

I am going to miss you brother,
Klim
