Be Thou At Peace

Posted by paul callanan on December 26, 2005:

Edward Callanan was my father. No better mentor could a son have than this man. He was kind, considerate and always held true to his word. Disciplined and loving, he doted on my mother who had the tough job of raising three sons. After his retirement from the Army, he went into education and continued to mold young minds and hearts. A devout Catholic throughout his life, his faith sustained him in times of troubles and especially the last few years of his life when he was battling cancer. I do miss his physical presence, but will always carry him in my heart and mind. Whenever I need help I turn to him in my mind and ask myself, how would my father handle this. He always answers with dignity, grace and honor. I love you very much and miss you every day. God rest you.
