My prayers are with the Britt family as you go through this time of trial. I knew Ben when we were plebes and had a couple classes with him back then. We always enjoyed how fondly he talked of Texas in that unique southern drawl of his. He was a smart guy and never said no to me when I needed a hand on some homework, which was quite often the first couple years at school. He helped encourage me to stay at West Point when I really wanted to quit because I wasn't doing well in school. He told me to buck up and press on and that since I had gotten in, I could make it through the rest of the way. I'll never forget that advice and it has served me well since. I am truly sorry that such an awesome guy was taken away from us. Rest in peace Ben. My deepest sympathy, Marshall McGurk c/o 2005 |
