Be Thou At Peace

I had stopped by Frank's Condo off Padonia Rd. in Lutherville, MD to obtain his file papers for the Transportation Committee for the 55th Class of 1951 Reunion. I knew that he was having serious heart problems and his son, Jason Sheriff from West Virginia was there in the condo because of his Dad's condition. I visited Frank this next morning in the hospital and I could see that his breathing was labored and knew what a brave fight he was conducting. Other than knowing Frank only as a cadet 55 yars ago I had lost track of him until I was asked to work with him on his Transportation Committee for the Class 55th Reunion. Frank exhibited a full gamlet of management skills and was administratively the most talented person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He selected the Signal Corps upon graduation and rose rapidly in rank to Colonel in 1972 (21 yrs.) He retired in 1972 and joined industry which took him to the Baltimore area. From there he formed his own consulting firm and was its president until health issues forced a retirement. He was a very talented individual and earned a masters degree from Harvard U.in Business while on active army duty.
