Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kristen Vahle on March 9, 2006:

Even though several months have passed since that painful Sunday morning when I got the call about Dennis' death, he hasn't left my thoughts for a single day. Now is the time when things get really hard for his family and close friends- when others forget and move on, and they live with the pain everyday, feeling like it is only getting harder with time. So to all his family and friends, you are still in my thoughts and prayers. And if you ever need a laugh, especially you fellow swimmers, remember the way Dennis used to wear his prescription goggles around the pool deck so he could see, or how he always made sure you knew it was "hump day" every Wednesday, or how he used to dive into the pool, yelling in midair and making everyone crack up. "How you doin?" Loyal, caring, funny, loving, hard-working, and very kind, Dennis was one of the greatest friends I've known. Even though we on earth are mourning his loss, heaven is most definitely rejoicing. I'll catch you on the flip side, Dennis.
