My family and I have just learned of Capt. Paliwoda's death. We were shocked and saddened by the news. You see, 28 years ago Eric was my namesake. His parents were our friends in New England and his father and I were "weight men" at a US Olympic training camp. We had lost touch through the years. Now, I am truly sorry to learn about this special young man and this courageous soldier after he is gone. Our prayers are with Al and Mary. May God hold you in His hand as He now shelters your Son.
