| I am saddened today to learn of Jim Jones' passing. I met him at a place called PhuLam, near Saigon, Viet Nam in 1965 where he served as the unit's Adjutant. I was seeking to locate him in connection with the establishment of a PhuLam veterans website. I remember Jim as a bright, sharp 1LT and later CPT at PhuLam, a good judge of character and always very perceptive. He had a ready smile for his associates and displayed a quick wit, which I appreciated. Although our paths never crossed after 1966, I am confident he treated his fellow man with respect and dignity, wherever he went. Requiescat in Pace, Jim. |
