Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Matt "Bobby" Fitzpatrick on March 29, 2006:

Mr. and Mrs. Frank, Kirsten, Heidi and Tina,

I learned about Steve almost a year ago and he has never been far from my thoughts. It has been a while since we have all been together for Thanksgiving or Easter, but I still remember the times when Steve would talk about West Point and all of his adventures.

When I was applying to the Service Academies I often heard Stephen's name from my teachers that instructed him in the past. They told me how hard he worked to achieve his goals, and I hoped I could live up to the precedent set by your son and brother.

In 57 days I will graduate from the United States Naval Academy as a 2nd Lt in the United States Marine Corps. After reading the many postings from Stephen's friends and family, I still hope that I can live up to his example and be an inspiration for so many.

Semper Fidelis,
Bobby
