Be Thou At Peace

Posted by CPT Jason T. Williams on April 22, 2006:

Ian and Wendy were one of mine and Shelley's first "couple friends" when Ian and I were lieutenants together in 3rd ACR. Shelley and I are both devastated by his loss. Over the last few days I have spent a lot of time reminiscing about the old days and one of the best friends that I ever had. There was the ski trips to Breckinridge, the night we saw Joan Jett open for Def Leppard at the Colorado Springs Arena, the Super Bowl when the Titans got stopped on the goal line, the Rockies game when Barry Bonds hit a home run 10 rows below our seats while Ian and I were in line for a beer, watching Game 6 of the finals from a sports bar near Park Meadows the year that the Avalanche and Ray Bourque finally won the Stanley Cup, Thanksgiving dinner, playing golf, lunch at The Cheesecake Factory in Denver, cigars in Bosnia "Good Dudes, Good Times"....I could go on and on. Ian was the best. He was one of the best friends that I have ever had and one of the most professional officers that I have ever known. I am a better husband, father and officer for having known him. The Lord's will is done, and I will miss Ian all the rest of my days. Wendy, we love you.
