Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tim Koester on April 26, 2006:

Ian,
You were one of the first people I met in B-4 as a cow because we were first semester room mates. The things I will miss about you are your constant looking at the EastBay catalogue to buy cleats and shoes for sports you didn't even play. You had a different baseball hat for whatever team was playing well at the time (I specifically remember the Cleveland Indians and Nebraska Cornhuskers hat which is odd for somebody from Colorado Springs.) Those things are especially funny to me because where you were so true was your faith in God, your family, and your friends. I can remember this last year getting the tremendous responsibility of making your Fantasy Football trades while you were deployed and thinking about how much time we haven't spent around each other the last few years, yet things remain the same. The only thing that makes you leaving us palatable is that I cannot imagine that somebody who had as strong of a relationship with God as you is not in heaven now. Protect and watch us as you did while here among us. I can't wait to tell JT some day what a fine young man he has turned out to be and how much he is like his Dad.
Tim
