| Doug was a consummate leader, a great friend and a great man. Doug was a part of some of my best memories of my time at the Academy or training at Fort Benning and beyond. We lost touch over time as we were both deployed though I know if I would have run into him a month ago we would have embraced as old friends and probably wouldn?t have enough time to catch up again for all the things we would have wanted to talk about. I looked up to and admired Doug for all that he was and above all else stood his character and dedication to his unit and family. I miss him deeply and regret the loss of a great friend. |
