Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Boyle on May 31, 2006:

Thank you Doug. Thank you for your service to our great Nation and to the people of Iraq, as they struggle to establish their newly found and ever so fragile freedom, after years of oppression.

Thank you and all the members of the Armed Forces, who stand up for me and my family every day; who guarantee all of us that the world wide threat of the 21st century (indeed, to civilization, as we know it) - Muslim extemism - will fail when faced with the most potent weapon ever known to the world - the American GI; who understand that a country called America, despite all of its problems, is and always will be at the cutting edge of helping the rest of the world, no matter the problem or the price; who are willing to wear a uniform, endure the hardships that come with the job, and, as in your case, even make the ultimate sacrifice. May God bless you and your family.

Doug DiCenzo - a great American and a real tribute to the Long Gray Line.

As the verse from the West Point Alma Mater reads:

"And when our work is done,
Our course on Earth is run,
May it be said, "Well done:
Be thou at peace."
