Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kathy and Jerry Drake on June 1, 2006:

It was with deep sadness that I read the email from my son, Captain Jonny Drake, USMA class of 1999, regarding Doug's death. I remember fondly plebe/parent weekend going to West Point, picking up Jonny and some other cadets and meeting the Dicenzo family who immediately took us under their wings and invited us to picnic on the river. It was such a special time and Doug was just the neatest guy. I was so impressed by him and by all the fine young cadets I met over that weekend. I will forever remember Doug's sweet smile and friendship with our son. Please know that our grief for you is great. We revere and honor Doug's sacrifice and the sacrifice of his lovely family. Our prayers are with you.
Doug's sacrifice will never be forgotten.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15: 13
